SUMMARY:Integrated Conservation Planning and Land Use Management (LUM)
                        DESCRIPTION:ABCG Result presentation dissemination webinar.

October 19, 2021

9-10AM EDT / 4-5PM EAT

<strong>Event Overview</strong>

The working group developed a methodological approach to conservation and land use planning based on scenario analysis, and guidelines for its application, to incorporate equitable and climate-smart alternatives into land-use decisions for conservation. The group conducted a series of scenario analyses in 4 target landscapes across Africa (Gabon, Madagascar, Republic of Congo and Tanzania), to inform national land-use planning processes and ensure biodiversity is integrated into future plans. The group also developed a modular land-use planning training course, to build capacity for land-use planning skills in target areas, and that was to be used across Africa more broadly.

<strong>Speakers</strong>

Kendall Jones – Conservation Planning Specialist, WCS

Anne Trainor – Landscape Ecologist, Africa Program, The Nature Conservancy (TNC)

Bruno Rajaspera – Conservation International

David Williams – Sr. Director, Conservation Geography, African Wildlife Foundation

Teodyl Nkuintchua - Country Manager, Republic of Congo, World Resources Institute
