The Ujamaa Community Resource Team’s Program Coordinator Edward Loure, and Carbon Tanzania’s Director, Marc Baker share how securing land rights and integrating REDD can help communities benefit from their natural resources for future generations. This talk examines successes of this partnership with one of the last hunter-gatherer tribes in the world, the Hadzabe in Yaeda Valley. The talk also focuses on a newly emerging project in the Makame Wildlife Management Area, an Acacia-Commiphore Dryland Forest that includes land from five villages and provides crucial habitat for the bordering Tarangire National Park wildlife most of the year.
