Craig’s presentation reports on the acceptance of and the potential for holistic planned grazing in five community-based wildlife conservancies in Northern Kenya, including: How this helps preserve critical wildlife habitat; influence carbon sequestration; and strengthen indigenous stewardship.

Craig Leggett has recently completed a training project of pastoral communities of Kenya and Ethiopia in holistic grazing management. The holistic approach builds upon community values and vision and uses the readily available livestock as the means for regenerating grasslands, enhancing land-based livelihoods, and creating a respected role for wildlife species.
