SMART, an open-source, non-proprietary spatially explicit software system is now in use by several national governments across the globe including Africa. Barney Long gave an overview of a data gathering, evaluation and monitoring system designed to increase and improve intelligence for conservation defense such as tracking and reporting poaching.
