Assessment of the Impact of Voluntary Guidelines on the Responsible Governance of Tenure (VGS) on Environmental and Social Safeguards in SAGCOT Region – final draft main report

The African Wildlife Foundation commissioned a consultancy led by a professional land expert to assess and document the procedures followed, and the related impact of large scale land acquisitions in the Southern Agriculture Growth Corridor of Tanzania (SAGCOT). Key findings point to a serious lack of coordinated agendas between government departments and a complete lack of knowledge about the provision of the FAO Voluntary Guidelines on the Responsible Governance of Tenure of Land, Fisheries and Forests in the Context of National Food Security.
