This meeting was hosted by USAID on May 4, 2009.

Meeting Purpose:

• To introduce the concept of biodiversity offsets and their potential as a tool for conservation in Africa.

Desired Outcomes:

• A shared understanding of biodiversity offsets, the Business and Biodiversity Offsets Program (BBOP) and the successes and challenges of BBOP pilot projects and policy efforts in Africa so that we can consider their applicability for use and/or promotion in our respective organizations.
